Sector 4 · Planet

Saturn

Rings made almost entirely of water ice, and the hazy moon Titan.

Saturn's rings stretch hundreds of thousands of kilometres across but are mostly only tens of metres thick. They are made of countless pieces of water ice, from grains of dust to chunks the size of houses.

Saturn is so light for its size that, on average, it is less dense than water. Its largest moon, Titan, is bigger than the planet Mercury and has a thick orange atmosphere, with lakes of liquid methane on its surface.

Saturn in Comet Courier

Flying through the Saturn sector in Comet Courier

Saturn is one of the most striking sectors on the route: the ringed planet tilted across the sky, with orange Titan to one side. It is also a favourite place to take photos in the Sky tour.
